I invite you to experience the Prosecco Hills as I know them.
I personally guide you through the rolling vineyards of Valdobbiadene, along panoramic trails known only to locals. Our hike flows naturally into an intimate wine tasting, where I share my favorite expressions of Prosecco Superiore, crafted in these UNESCO-listed hills. This is more than a walk and a tasting, it is my way of introducing you to a landscape shaped by beauty, tradition, and quiet luxury. A moment to slow down, connect, and savor every step and every sip.
Place
In Italy, vineyards often rise beside storybook castles and timeless hilltop villages. Yet few landscapes compare to the quiet drama of the Prosecco Road, a ribbon of serpentine lanes weaving through the Valdobbiadene Hills in the heart of Veneto. This is a place of undeniable allure, where every curve reveals a new, breathtaking perspective.
Just one hour north of Venice, La Strada del Prosecco stretches for nearly twenty miles between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. The landscape is defined by steep, terraced vineyards sculpted into the hillsides, devoted almost entirely to the production of Italy’s most celebrated sparkling wine. Here, tradition prevails. There are no vast industrial estates, only small, family-run wineries where craftsmanship, patience, and passion give life to Prosecco of remarkable elegance and freshness.
The route
Our journey begins with a magnificent walk to the Molinetto della Croda. Tucked away in the gentle hills of Refrontolo, this timeless watermill reveals itself as a hidden sanctuary. From the moment we leave the parking area and follow the sound of flowing water, the world beyond quietly disappears. Few would imagine that such profound peace and silence exist just moments from the provincial road, a place where nature, history, and serenity unfold in perfect harmony.
Breathtaking view
From here, our path unfolds gently through rolling vineyard hills. We walk across a harmonious blend of paved lanes and shaded forest trails, where the pace remains relaxed and effortlessly enjoyable. The route is designed for pleasure rather than challenge, with only the rare, short ascent to add a touch of character to the journey. Anyone with a reasonable level of fitness and a love for fresh air will feel entirely at ease.
The walk lasts approximately two to two and a half hours, allowing ample time to pause, take in the sweeping views, and capture the beauty of the landscape through unhurried moments and photographs.
Guia Winery is a family story rooted in the Valdobbiadene hills.
For generations, the family has crafted Prosecco Superiore with respect for tradition and a deep connection to the land. Small-scale production, hand-tended vineyards, and uncompromising quality define wines that are elegant, authentic, and unmistakably personal.
Alla salute
You'll see how the wines are made, followed by a tasting of three Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Sparkling wines, two frizzanti: one traditional refermented in the bottle, all paired with fresh bread and local cheeses and salami.
The stunning views add a magical touch to the traditional Italian aperitifs.
